As our family came to the end of The Rancher Takes a Wife a sense of mourning fell over the house. The characters, the historic storyline, they were now over. Sure, this had happened two times before, but we were able to console ourselves in knowing their saga would continue in the next book tomorrow, or when we made it back to the house for the sequel. But not this time. Not when it was the third, and final book in this three-part series.

For those of you that have been following along, I won’t ruin the plot. Here are a few things about the series in general:

· This is the true story of two men settling a cattle ranch in the 1930s-40s in the far, remote stretches of British Columbia.
· All three books are written by the younger gentleman in the story, Richmond P. Hobson, Jr. and were originally copywrited in 1978.
· The book is appropriate for the entire family! My 4 and 6 year old boys were on the edges of their seats during the wrecks and wild encounters faced by this group of cowboying frontier men.
· Due to reprinting in 2015, they can be picked up VERY reasonable on Amazon!

For those of you who have read this series, is there anything to tide me over? Anything that much touch the greatness of this gem? Help a sister out!
