Good Things Take Time!

Good Things Take Time!

I have been studying Exodus lately. Reading about Moses and Aaron, Pharoah, and the miracles that allowed the Israelites to escape. It reminds me of an important reality:

Good things take time!

How much work, prayer and sacrifice took place? In chapter 23, God reveals His plan to push the Hivite, Caaanite, and Hittite out of their land in increments.

I will not drive them out before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.
— Exodus 23:29-30

I read this as God did not want to suffocate the Israelites with His blessing! He needed these folks to build the foundation beneath their people to properly care for things yet to come. This progression was on purpose!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
— Jeremiah 29:11

Could you be facing a similar situation in your life right now? Maybe roles need to be tightened up and strengthened within your family. Maybe your business needs to build capital or develop a team before taking the next step. If we truly believe in Jeremiah 29:11, then we should look to our present. What can we be doing now instead of stressing about our future?

I encourage you to take a moment and write down the small tasks and goals you can do today and this week, to step towards your future!
