Five Ways to Jump Start Business

Business a little slow? Here are a few ways to jump start it now!

Trade: Can you trade with another maker? This is great if you have a new idea you'd like to try out, bonus points if they'll review your product on social media!

P.S. make sure you return the favor!

Collaboration: Team up with other businesses! Are you a leather worker that's had an idea involving beads? Pitch it to your favorite beader and see what happens! Maybe you've envisioned a new community? Partner with others that will help launch it! Whatever it is, work with someone because creatives spark more creativity!

Use Up Those Scraps: I often talk with saddle makers, rawhide braiders, etc who just sit when they lack orders. I challenge you to dig thru that scrap bin and see what you have! Yes, you're a saddle maker, but could you make earrings? It puts cash in your pocket, let's you test new ideas, and can help boost social media engagement.

Auction: Do you have odds and ends you've held onto for too long? Host a Facebook auction! When done right, this can increase engagement, clean out your shop and even spark new orders!

Host Giveaway for your Followers: Notice, I did not say, "to get new followers?" I want you to serve those already in your network and take time to engage with them! Maybe their entry is to answer a question and you continue to engage with their answer? This is great for your brand, your algorithm, and gives you an excuse to make something new for the winner!

My point is, GET CREATIVE and don’t let a slump get to you. The masters have gone thru more slumps than the beginners were willing to try. Which category are you?
